Dr. David Mark, M.D.Dr. Mark attended Stanford University and completed degrees in biology and music. He received his medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose. Following his ophthalmology training at Stanford University, he joined the teaching faculty at Stanford. He completed a two-year fellowship in corneal disease and surgery at Harvard. He also worked as a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Eye Research Institute in Boston. His special interest areas are corneal diseases, laser vision correction, and cataract surgery. Dr. Mark is married and has two daughters and a son. His outside interests include music, tennis, and softball.
Dr. Moshe Mendelson, O.D.Dr. Mendelson, a board certified optometrist received his doctorate at the University of California at Berkeley in 1990. He was trained at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital, Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center and at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Stanford. Dr. Mendelson has been a clinical investigator for FDA contact lens studies. He is currently an Adjunct Professor for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Mendelson is a leading optometrist in the field of Orthokeratology/CRT overseeing one of the busiest Orthokeratology/CRT practices in the nation. He has devoted his practice to this field. Over the last 20 years Dr. Mendelson has fitted thousands of patients with the Orthokeratology/CRT contacts. He is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the California Optometric Association. Dr. Mendelson is passionate about his care and works with local schools to provide eye care to underprivileged children.
Dr. Athena Reyes Brasfield, O.D.Dr. Reyes-Brasfield received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences and English from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2003. She continued on at the University of California, Berkeley to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2007. She completed challenging internships at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL, as well as the Livermore Veterans Affairs hospital in Livermore, CA, and the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Health Care services and the Western Blind Rehabilitation center in Palo Alto, CA. Dr. Reyes-Brasfield was recognized in 2007 by Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society for four consecutive years of academic excellence while in school. She was also awarded the Garoni Scholarship by the Alameda-Contra Costa Optometric Society in 2006, in which she was recognized for excellence in community service outside of the profession in the San Francisco Bay area. Dr. Reyes-Brasfield is a member of the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Reyes-Brasfield is Paragon CRT certified and holds licenses as follows: National Board of Examiners in Optometry, Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease, 2006; Patient Care 2007, California State Board of Optometry, Therapeutic Drug 2007.
Dr. Helen Lee, O.D.
Dr. Kao earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of California – Berkeley in 2009. She completed internships at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Health System - Livermore Division, and Castle Family Health Center. During her graduate studies, not only was she recognized by the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society for academic excellence, she was also awarded numerous leadership and community service scholarships. She continued with a residency program in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at the SUNY College of Optometry in New York, NY. There, she received specialized training in the evaluation and treatment of strabismus (eye turn), amblyopia (lazy eye), visual skills deficiencies (eye teaming, focusing, and tracking), visual perceptual deficiencies, and acquired brain injuries. Dr. Kao now serves on the clinical faculty at the University of California – Berkeley School of Optometry in the Binocular Vision Clinic, teaching third and fourth year students. She is actively involved with the American Academy of Optometry by presenting at national meetings. She is also a member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the Santa Clara County Optometric Society, the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Kao is certified to fit Paragon CRT lenses and enjoys working with children and young adults of all ages. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Dr. Kay Dombkowski earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis at the top of her graduating class, earning her the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa International Honors Society Silver Medal and multiple scholarships. Kay completed rotations at the Kansas City Veteran’s Administration Medical Center and the St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired, to list a few. Kay has worked with the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity International group, donating her skills to provide comprehensive ophthalmic care for thousands of impoverished people in El Salvador. She is a member of the national, state and local optometric associations, and has been invited to speak locally to groups about Parkinson’s disease and its impact on the eyes. Kay is certified in corneal refractive therapy, and looks forward to satisfying all of your family’s visual needs.
