We are looking for an Optical Manager to lead our successful, well organized, Optical department. Must have great customer service experience, optical knowledge, attention to detail, systems-oriented, and a strong work ethic. The overall mission of the Optical Manager is to be a leader and manage as if the business owner within the organization and marketplace. The Optical Manager strives to make Silicon Valley Eye Physicians the premier destination for all vision needs within the community while increasing market share, sales, and profit. Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of all Opticians, and optical support, and administrative staff. Maintain schedules, protocols, processes, and workflows to assure high-quality, efficient patient care and experience.

  • Lead a productive, team-oriented work environment. Be a reliable presence in the office and conduct regular staff meetings to provide information and solicit feedback. Coach and mentor staff by example and through the use of clearly communicated expectations, progress meetings, and performance reviews.

  • Direct or conduct recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel to achieve efficient, measurable utilization of staff resources to provide maximum coverage with an optimal number of team members.

  • Oversee Merchandising and Vendor Management

  • Oversee product quality and delivery

  • Regular review of financial and operational outcomes of Optical team and production of summaries for leadership review. Implement programs and measures to optimize optical operations and revenue.

  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience preferably in a high-end optical environment preferred.

  • Knowledge of optical business operations, team management, inventory management and merchandising, financial reporting.

  • California State Licensed Optician preferred

  • ABO certified preferred

  • Proficient in EXCEL, WORD and Compulink preferred

  • Knowledge of EyeMed, VSP, programs


  • Optical: 3 years (Preferred)

  • Management: 3 years (Preferred)


  • ABO (Preferred)
